GED<\/strong>\u00ae course of instruction prepares students for academic and personal success through obtaining the necessary skills required to pass the official GED\u00ae test and earn a State of Florida High School Diploma. This program strives to motivate students not only to obtain the diploma but also to utilize the acquired skills in the workforce and to achieve career and job placement success. GED\u00ae courses are offered at various adult education centers throughout Miami-Dade County. The GED\u00ae preparation course is also offered online through The Learning Center (TLC) online at The English Center.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0GED<\/strong>\u00ae Preparation Program consists of four content-area assessments: Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematics Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. The purpose of the program is to prepare students to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the Official GED\u00ae Tests and be awarded a State of Florida High School Diploma. An additional performance level will certify that the adult student is career and college ready. This program strives to motivate students not only to obtain a GED\u00ae diploma, but to continue their education to earn a postsecondary degree, certificate, or industry certification.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0GED<\/strong>\u00ae Test provides adults with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma that will enable them to obtain employment or advancement enroll in higher education or technical training or fulfill a lifelong goal. Adults who successfully pass the\u00a0GED<\/strong>\u00ae Test in Florida are awarded a State of Florida High School Diploma.<\/p>\n
